Volunteers in the service of public health

The commitment of our volunteers is one of the most important parts of Vätternrundan. Each year, several thousand volunteers help make Bike week and all our events possible. Pride in being part of the event, the sense of community within clubs and associations, and the opportunity to contribute to something bigger are strong driving forces behind the volunteer work.

For many clubs, the assignment is also an important source of income. Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers, Vätternrundan is able to give back millions of SEK each year to local sports organizations, creating opportunities for more children, young people, and adults to take part in sports and community life.

As a volunteer, there are many different roles to choose from. Tasks may include assisting at the start and finish areas, working at feed zones along the route, guiding participants and visitors, providing service, or helping create a safe and secure environment during the events. Regardless of the role, volunteers are a vital part of the participants’ overall experience.

Being a volunteer at Vätternrundan also means becoming part of a strong community. Together, we create the cycling festival that brings tens of thousands of participants and visitors to Motala and around Lake Vättern every year.
